Overview
We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Collections Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of past-due accounts, building strong client relationships, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator-both verbally and in writing-with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Proactively contact clients regarding past due balances via phone and email.
· Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients while collecting outstanding payments.
· Follow up consistently until past due amounts are resolved.
· Research and resolve client account issues, billing discrepancies, or questions.
· Document all communications and account updates accurately.
· Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls related to collections and account inquiries.
· Respond to accounting support tickets and email requests from clients and internal teams.
· Collaborate cross functionally to troubleshoot account or payment related issues.
· Meet or exceed collections and aging reduction goals.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in collections, or a related field (preferred).
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
· Strong problem solving skills with the ability to research and resolve account issues.
· Professional, patient, and client focused approach.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and CRM/ERP systems (preferred).
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
